Did you know that bones regenerate constantly throughout one's life?

Consuming milk products is important whatever your age. As the needs of the human body changes with age, so does the number of recommended daily servings.

Ingredients

2 cups (500 mL) Milk
1 1/4 cup (310 mL) water
1/4 tsp (1 mL) ground cinnamon
1 1/3 cup (330 mL) quick cooking rolled oat
1/3 cup (80 mL) dried cherries or
dried cranberries, chopped
1/4 cup (60 mL) roasted almonds, chopped
More Milk, if needed

Preparation

Stove Top:
In a saucepan, combine milk, water and cinnamon. Bring to a boil over medium high heat, stirring often. Gradually add rolled oats and cherries. Reduce heat and let simmer, stirring often, until the oatmeal is tender – about 3-5 minutes.

Microwave:
In a large microwavable bowl, mix together milk, water, cinnamon, oatmeal and cherries. Cook on high, 4-5 minutes, stirring once.

Once cooked, remove porridge from heat or microwave oven, cover and let stand 5 minutes. Sprinkle with the almonds and add more milk to taste.
