Did you know that bones regenerate constantly throughout one's life?

Consuming milk products is important whatever your age. As the needs of the human body changes with age, so does the number of recommended daily servings.

Ingredients

1 cup (250 mL) plain yogurt
1 cup (250 mL) shredded seedless cucumber, squeezed dry
1 garlic clove, minced
1/4 tsp (1 mL) sugar
Salt and pepper, to taste

Preparation

In small bowl, combine yogurt, cucumber, garlic and sugar. Add salt and pepper to taste.

Chill for 1 hour to blend flavours. Serve with souvlaki or grilled chicken sandwiches.

Variation: For a thicker sauce, start with yogurt cheese : line a 6 inch (15 cm) strainer with a double layer of cheesecloth; place over bowl. Add 2 cups (500 mL) plain yogurt (with no gelatin or starch added) to strainer.

Cover and refrigerate 24 hours to drain. Discard whey liquid.

Makes about 1 ½ cup (325 mL).
