Ingredients

4 pork chops
2 small onions, sliced
2 tbsp (30 mL) all-purpose flour
1 1/2 cups (375 mL) Milk
Salt and freshly ground pepper, to taste
dried or fresh sage, to taste or
dried or fresh thyme, to taste
A pinch of ground nutmeg

Preparation

Place pork chops in large, cold fry pan over medium high heat. Sauté chops on each side; reduce heat. Add onion slices and 1 tbsp (15 mL) water. Cover and cook over low heat until chops are completely cooked, about 25 min. Remove chops to warm platter.

To 2 tbsp (30 mL) pan drippings, add flour and blend until smooth. Over medium heat, add milk, stirring constantly until gravy thickens and boils. Blend in salt, pepper, herbs and nutmeg. Simmer for 2 min, to blend flavours. Pour over pork chops.
