About Mascarpone

Mascarpone is an Italian cheese from the Lombardy region. It is a thick, double to triple-cream cheese with a very high fat content, ranging from 60% to 75%. The resulting rich butterfat content makes this cheese an essential ingredient in recipes like Tiramisu and cheesecake.

Fresh cheeses have the shortest refrigerator shelf-life of all the cheese categories, varying from a few days to two weeks according to the cheese. Most Canadian Fresh cheeses are packaged and bear a "best before date", so check that date and keep your cheese refrigerated.


Freezing is not recommended for Fresh cheeses.
