About Fresh

While the word "fresh" refers to a mode of manufacturing, it could equally be used to describe the taste and texture of Fresh cheeses. Incredibly versatile, they can enhance any meal or snack. Some are light and delicate; while others are flavoured with herbs, garlic, spices or fruits.

Keeping Cheese

Storage

Fresh cheeses have the shortest refrigerator shelf-life of all the cheese categories, varying from a few days to two weeks according to the cheese. Most Canadian Fresh cheeses are packaged and bear a "best before" date, so check that date and keep your cheese refrigerated.

Freezing

Freezing is not recommended for Fresh cheeses.
