100% Canadian Milk

About the 100% Canadian Milk Symbol

The cow has been featured on symbols representing the Canadian Dairy industry for decades.

Prior to 1996, the symbol consisted solely of the cow; from 1996 to 2008 the signature ‘Quality Milk’ was added to qualify the main ingredient and add meaning to the symbol.

Although awareness of the symbol was strong, not enough Canadians understood that it was intended to communicate ‘Canadian’ and ‘dairy products’.

As a result, the focus shifted to the 100% Canadian origin of dairy products and, in 2009, the 100% Canadian Milk symbol replaced the previous version.
