Meatloaf Canadiana

Preparation

What You Need

1 1/2 lbs (750 g) lean ground beef
1 pkg (about 50 g) onion soup mix
1/2 cup (125 ml) fine dry breadcrumbs
1 egg
1/2 cup (125 ml) milk
1/2 cup (125 ml) bottled barbecue or
chili sauce
4 oz (125 g) Canadian Cheddar* cheese, thinly sliced

Instructions

Preheat oven to 375 °F (190 °C).

In large bowl, combine beef, soup mix, breadcrumbs, egg and milk. Press into 9 inch (23 cm) pie plate. Bake 40 minutes or until done. Drain.

Spread barbecue sauce over meat; arrange Canadian Cheddar cheese on top. Bake 5 minutes longer or until cheese is melted. Cut into wedges and serve.


Tips

* Or you can use thinly sliced Canadian Brick or Colby cheese.
