Garlic Green and Wax Beans with Toasted Almonds

Preparation

What You Need

1 lb (500 g) green and wax beans
3 tbsp (45 ml) butter
3 garlic cloves, crushed
2 tomatoes, trimmed and diced
1 tbsp (15 ml) liquid honey
Juice of 1/2 lime
Salt
Pepper
1/2 cup (125 ml) toasted almonds

Instructions

Preheat oven at broil at 500 °F (260 °C).

Toast almonds under oven broiler for at least 1 minute until golden.

In saucepan of boiling water, cook beans for a 5, 6 minutes until tender-crisp. Drain and set aside.

In large saucepan, sauté garlic and tomatoes in butter for 2 minutes. Stir in beans, honey and lime juice. Season to taste with salt and pepper. Turn heat off, cover and let stand for 4 minutes.

Serve immediately and top with toasted almonds.

    I loved this recipe. Unlike the last post, I loved the garlic and tomatoes. It gives a nice taste and the color is amazing. Since trying this recipe for the first time a month ago, I have made the beans 4 more times!

    this recipe was not worth the effort. The garlic and tomatoes did not add to the dish. It is simpler and just as good to cook green beans and add butter and toasted almonds.
