Who Love to Dip
Keep ready-cut or bite-size vegetables and fruit in containers in the refrigerator. Celery, different coloured peppers, carrots, snow peas, cherry tomatoes, cantaloupe, watermelon, oranges - and any other vegetables or fruit your children love – the options are endless. Tzatziki or hummus makes for a fresh, easy to make vegetable dip.
Here’s what you will need:
- 1/4 seedless cucumber, peeled (approx. 6 to 8 cm)
- 1/2 cup (60 ml) plain yogurt
- 1 clove garlic, minced
- 1/2 tsp (2 ml) dried dill
- Salt to taste
Grate cucumber, and then place in cheese cloth or paper towel and press to squeeze out liquid. Combine all ingredients in a bowl and beat together until smooth, and voilà! You have a delicious tzatziki dip for your little dippers!
For a quick and easy fruit dip, just combine a couple of tablespoons of cream cheese with a couple of tablespoons of your child’s favourite yogurt. It just doesn’t get any easier than that!
