The Facts on CLA

Conjugated linoleic acid, or CLA, is a naturally-occurring trans fat found in dairy fat. To date, the findings from research in humans, still in its infancy, suggest that CLA may protect against breast cancer in women.

CLA is also produced by our body from vaccenic acid, another naturally-occurring trans fat found in dairy fat.

While more research is needed, the presence of CLA highlights the fact that completely eliminating dairy fat from our diet may not be a great idea. Moderation continues to be the best advice.
