Milk Products May Help Prevent Colon Cancer
Numerous scientific studies suggest that consuming milk and milk products could lower the risk of colon cancer.
There is a lot of good evidence to suggest that milk and milk products could have a protective effect against colorectal cancer. In fact, according to a report from the World Cancer Research Fund and the American Institute for Cancer Research concerning the role of diet and lifestyle on cancer prevention, there is enough evidence to conclude that milk probably has a protective effect against colorectal cancer.1
Although other studies are necessary to clarify the mechanisms through which milk products and/or their components reduce the risk of colon cancer, many researchers think that various components contained in milk products might be involved, such as calcium, vitamin D, and other components of milk products such as conjugated linoleic acids (CLA), which are found in milk fat. Remember: The best way to prevent cancer is to have a healthier lifestyle and to include milk products as part of a healthy diet.
