Little pleasures for those stress-relieving moments
In a bowl, stir together 1/2 cup of finely grated Canadian Parmesan, some melted butter, 1 tsp. of chilli powder and 1/2 tsp. of salt. Add to popcorn and mix well. Put in a pretty plastic bag.
O, in a basket, put: coffee and biscotti; croissants, jam and cheese; bagels with Cream Cheese and smoked salmon. These simple gestures are guaranteed to make your host smile.
A deliciously simple idea
In a glass jar, put small cubes of Canadian Cheddar or Mozzarella. Pour on your favourite salad dressing, such has Italian or Tomato and Basil, and refrigerate for two days. To give it a Mediterranean twist, wipe a block of Canadian Feta with a paper towel and dice it. Place the cheese in a sterilized jar and add olives, chopped sweet pepper and herbs, such as dried rosemary oregano, bay leaf, coriander seeds and peppercorns. Fill the jar with your favourite olive oil. Voila!
Always ready for a tasting
Ask the person behind the cheese counter to suggest two or three types of Canadian cheeses. They’ll make a great gift wrapped in a gift box with a cheese tray and cheese knives, or a set of cheese plates. Who knows, you might even be invited to sample these mouth-watering treats!
