Milk Products and Diarrhea
Some people diagnosed with an intolerance to lactose (the sugar naturally found in milk) may suffer from diarrhea after consuming milk products but, for the rest of us, there is no link between milk products and diarrhea.
Diarrhea can be caused by certain medications (e.g., antibiotics), as well as by infections or food intolerances.
A number of recent studies have demonstrated that fermented milk products, such as yogurt with probiotics (e.g., L. acidophilus), may even be effective in treating diarrhea related to antibiotics use in adults.
