Confit of Onion and Maple Syrup (Cheese Accompaniment)

Preparation

What You Need

2 tbsp (30 ml) butter
3 chopped onions
1/2 cup (125 ml) maple syrup
1 sprig thyme
Salt
Ground pepper, to taste

Instructions

In a casserole, melt butter. Add chopped onions and cook over medium heat until onions turn golden, 5 to 10 min.

Add maple syrup and leaves from sprig of thyme. Cook 2 minutes, stirring occasionally. Add salt and pepper. Serve hot or cold with cheese.

    Take firm cracker ie Triscuit and put slice of extra old cheddar cheese and top with confit!!!mmmmmmmm!
