Californian Turkey Burgers

Preparation

What You Need

1 lb (500 g) ground turkey
1/2 cup (125 ml) finely chopped red onion
1 egg, beaten
2 tbsp (30 ml) breadcrumbs
2 tbsp (30 ml) chopped fresh coriander
Pepper
Tabasco sauce
Worcestershire sauce
4 to 6 hamburger buns
Canadian Gruyèrecheese slices
Tomato slices
Dill pickle slices

Yogurt and Coriander Sauce:
1/2 cup (125 ml) plain yogurt
2 tbsp (30 ml) finely chopped tomato
1 garlic clove, finely chopped
1 tbsp (15 ml) chopped fresh coriander
1 tsp (5 ml) horseradish
1 tsp (5 ml) Dijon mustard
Salt
Pepper

Instructions

In large bowl, combine ground turkey, onion, egg, breadcrumbs and coriander. Season to taste with pepper, Tabasco sauce and Worcestershire sauce. Mix well.

Form into 4 to 6 even patties. Cook on lightly oiled grill over medium-high heat for 6 to 8 minutes. Just 2 minutes before patties are done, top each burger with 1 slice of Canadian Gruyère cheese.

Close barbecue lid and continue cooking. Lightly toast buns. Serve burgers with tomato and pickle slices, and top with yogurt and coriander sauce. Serve with green salad or home-made French fries.

Yogurt and Coriander Sauce:
In small bowl, mix all ingredients and season to taste. Keep in refrigerator.
